Parent Engagement

Parent Engagement
Parent Engagement

As a PeaceBuilder School, we also adhere to these core principles:

•             To praise people

•             To give up put-downs

•             To seek wise people

•             To notice and speak up about hurts I have caused

•             To right wrongs

•             To help others

We firmly believe in the positive effects that parent engagement has on the academic success of our students. To foster a strong home-school connection, families receive a weekly phone message on Sundays to provide them with the upcoming week’s events. We invite parents to become school volunteers, to attend our monthly PAC meeting, to become parent leaders via school committees, and to engage in learning through a variety of events and classes, such as:

•             Family Literacy Night

•             Family Math Night

•             Family Art Night

•             Monthly Family Engagement Project at Home: Parent and Student pick a topic, write a paragraph and draw a picture to display at school.

•             Monthly Nutritional and Story Time at the Library for students and parents

•             Road to College Parent-Student Classes

•             End of the Year Family Engagement Trip for parent volunteers/leaders
