“Empowerment through high expectations, achievement, and respect”

Welcome to Monte Vista for the 2020-2021 school year!  We are all facing unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 crisis. We have started this school year with  Distance Learning, but hope to be able to move onto a hybrid model and then return fully back onto campus once it is safely permitted by the Department of Public Health. We miss dearly our students; however, we understand that their safety cannot be compromised. I thank our Monte Vista families for your dedication and for modeling to their the value of resilience and growth-mindset at home. Monte Vista will continue to stand for academic excellence through high expectations for all students and their families, but we will place great emphasis on social emotional learning for our students. As a testament of our commitment, our middle school program has been recognized for a second year in a row as one of the best schools in Los Angeles county due to the high state test scores both on ELA and Mathematics. Stay safe and keep an optimistic mindset!
