Good Afternoon Dear MVSD Families, 

At last week's Consolidated Parent's Advisory Committee (CPAC) meeting, the El Monte Promise Foundation presented on their efforts to break down financial barriers to receiving a college education in our community! They can assist with TWO separate programs: CalKIDS savings program and with Scholars Savings Program! 

CalKIDS Savings Program - One of the ways El Monte Promise Foundation is doing is by partnering with the State of California's CalKIDS initiative. This program provides eligible, low-income public school children in grades 1-12 with a CalKIDS savings account and an initial deposit of up to $1,500. There is no family financial commitment required. 

Scholars Savings Program - ​El Monte Promise Foundation is offering an incentive of up to ​$500 for families that open a 529 Savings Account.
